EU AI Act August 2026 HR Compliance Checklist

August 2 is the enforcement date. AI hiring tools are explicitly high-risk. Know what you need in place.

HR Directors, CPOs, employment lawyers, and compliance teams at any organization using AI tools in hiring, performance management, or employment decisions affecting EU residents — regardless of where the organization is headquartered.

Most organizations using AI in HR processes know the EU AI Act is coming but have not worked through exactly which obligations apply to them as deployers (as opposed to AI system providers). The deployer obligations are less well-known but equally significant — and the August 2 deadline creates a fixed compliance horizon.
